Tablas Creek Esprit de Tablas Rouge '11   $19.99

There are some good black cherry, cola, leather, oak and black pepper flavors. It's complex in its own way, and gets better as it breathes in the glass. Give it a good, long decanting. The blend is Mourvèdre, Grenache, Syrah and Counoise, in that order. Regular price $52.99

Rosenblum Cellars Rockpile Zinfandel '13   $18.99

The power and grace of the Rockpile Road Zinfandel is a culmination of its unique climate, soil and pedigree. Bold, dark fruit, redolent with blueberries and boysenberry jam, shapes the core and establishes the masculine, mountain character of this high-elevation Zinfandel. Black pepper, cocoa and toasted oak spices weave through the multiple layers, joined by big, chewy tannins. Regular price $35.99

Qupe Sawyer Lindquist Vineyard Syrah '11  $15.99

This is a savory, spicy, meaty Syrah with a noticeable edginess from the whole clusters. It is a much more complex wine than past versions of this wine, and not as accessible. I recommend putting this away for at least 6 months before you think about drinking any...this wine will easily go 10-15 years in the cellar. Regular price $35.99

Uppercut Meritage '13 $10.99

The QPR on this wine is terrific. It's still decanting, but we'll sip as we go, and notes will follow! Black fruit and cherries on toast. A Napa stunner that doles a solid uppercut to the notion that a good wine can't come in an affordable bottle. Regular price $19.99
